Fourth Generation Cephalosporin Against All Relevant Bacteria Causing Bovine Mastitis

Cattle Intramammary Suspension

Each 3 g syringe contains: Cefquinoma (as sulphate) 150 mg, Excipients q.s.ad. 3 g.

For the treatment of subclinical mastitis at dry-off and the prevention of new bacterial infections of the udder during the dry-off period in dairy cows caused by the following organisms sensitive to cefquinome: Streptococcus uberis, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus agalactiae, Staphylococcus aureus, coagulase negative staphylococci.

Cefquinox® DC is administered intramammary. One syringe per quarter immediately after the last milking. Milk the quarters thoroughly. After thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the teat and teat sphincter, gently infuse the contents of one syringe into the teat canal of each quarter. Disperse the product by gently massaging the teat and udder of the affected animal. Care should be taken to avoid contamination of the injector nozzle.
