Synergistic Broad-Spectrum Antibiotic Association - Short-Term Treatment of Bovine Mastitis

Cattle Intramammary Suspension

Each 5 g syringe contains: Ampicillin (as trihydrate) 75 mg, Cloxacillin (as sodium salt) 200 mg, Excipients q.s.ad. 5 g.

Treatment of clinical and subclinical bovine mastitis in lactating cows, caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including: Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus spp, Staphylococcus spp, Escherichia coli, Trueperella pyogenes. It is especially recommended when the causative organisms have not been identified and when penicillin-resistant staphylococci, streptococci and E. coli are known or suspected to be involved.

Clox-A-Lac® is administered intramammary. The contents of one syringe should be gently infused into each infected quarter through the teat canal immediately after milking, at 12 hour intervals for three consecutive milkings. Milk the affected quarters and discard the milk. After thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the teat and teat sphincter, gently infuse the contents of a syringe into the teat canal of each affected quarter. Disperse the product by gently massaging the teat and udder of the affected animal. Take precautions to avoid contamination of the syringe nozzle.
