Fourth Generation Cephalosporin Against All Relevant Bacteria Causing Bovine Mastitis

Each 8 g syringe contains: Cefquinome (as sulfate) 75 mg, Excipients q.s.ad. 8 g.

For the treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis in lactating cows caused by bacteria sensitive to cefquinome, namely Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus uberis, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Escherichia coli (and other enterobacteria).

Cefquinox® LC is administered intramammary. One syringe per affected quarter every 12 hours for 3 successive milkings. Milk the affected quarters and discard the milk. After thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the teat and teat sphincter, gently infuse the contents of one syringe into the teat canal of each affected quarter. Disperse the product by gently massaging the teat and udder of the affected animal. The contents of one syringe should be gently infused into the teat of the infected quarter every 12 hours after each of three successive milkings. Take precautions to avoid contamination of the syringe cannula.
