Each 5 g syringe contains: Cloxacillin (as cloxacillin benzathine) 835 mg, Excipients q.s.ad. 5 g

Treatment of various ocular infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and other bacteria susceptible to cloxacillin. Treatment of bovine keratoconjunctivitis in which the presence of susceptible bacteria (including Moraxella bovis) is suspected or expected.

Opticlox® is administered by topical ocular route at a rate of (cm. of ointment per eye): Cattle and horses: approximately 5 - 10 cm. Swine, sheep, goats, camelids: approximately 5 cm. Dogs and cats: approximately 2 cm. Open the lower eyelid and instill a steady stream of ointment into the lower conjunctival sac. A single application is usually required, but treatment can be repeated after 48-72 hours if necessary. In animals with a single infected eye it is recommended, to avoid cross infection, to treat both eyes, treating the non-infected eye first to avoid transmission of infection. Each syringe should be used only once.
