Intramammary SuspensionEach 10 g syringe contains: Cephalexin (as monohydrate) 200 mg, Kanamycin sulfate 100 000 IU, Excipients q.s.ad. 10 g
Treatment of clinical mastitis in lactating dairy cows caused by bacteria sensitive to the combination of cephalexin and kanamycin such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis and Escherichia coli.
Kanacef® LC is administered intramammary. One syringe per affected quarter every 24 hours, until symptoms disappear, in practice two applications. Milk the affected quarters and discard the milk. After thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the teat and teat orifice, gently infuse the contents of a syringe into the teat canal of each affected quarter. Disperse the product by gently massaging the teat and udder of the affected animal. The contents of one syringe should be gently infused into the teat of the infected quarter every 24 hours for two successive days. Take precautions to avoid contamination of the syringe cannula.
